Club History

From humble beginnings at the Phillip Island Shire Hall on Saturday 17th June 1939, the face of the Phillip Island RSL has changed dramatically over the past 70 years.  A detailed history of not only the Phillip Island RSL Branch but also the stories of our valued returned servicemen are documented in “Keeping the Spirit Alive – The History of the Phillip Island RSL by Mary Bourke.

After purchasing new land in 1995 on the fringe of town, the RSL Sub Branch was built, and extended further in 1997 to include a Members Lounge.  Then in 2007, a $5 million dollar renovation commenced on the RSL, and the fantastic new venue was opened on February 14th 2008.
