#STANDTO Dawn Service at HomePosted on 20/03/20
This year we invite all Members of the RSL Community & the general public to #LightUpTheDawn by standing at the end of your driveway, front porch or in your garden to unite our spirit at 6am on ANZAC Day.
The ANZAC Spirit campaign has been created so that households will come together, to showcase their appreciation & understanding of why ANZAC Day is not only a ceremony, but a resilience that each of us possess to get through the toughest of times.
Saturday 25th April will mark ANZAC Day 2020, a significant day as we pause and reflect on the service and sacrifice of all those who have served and are currently serving. ANZAC Day this year will not look like the ANZAC Day that so many of us are used to participating in.
This does not mean that ANZAC Day is cancelled. It just means that ANZAC Day will be different.
In 2020, on April 25, while you can’t go to the Shrine of Remembrance or a local Dawn Service, the Committee & Management Team at Phillip Island RSL Sub Branch is asking that instead you Stand To. As the Last Post is played during the ANZAC Day Dawn Service walk outside, stand in your yard, driveway, or on your balcony and observe a minute of silence in respect of our veterans.
Make sure that you snap a quick picture as RSL Victoria invites all participants on the day to use the hashtags #ANZACSpirit, #LightUpTheDawn and #StandTo to accompany any posts that you may make to social media where you are displaying your ANZAC Spirit
Together, let’s amplify our commitment to the ANZAC spirit.
Lest We Forget.
